Easter Soap?

Anyone can dye eggs at Easter time, but we decided to be a little different this year and make soap (what else would you expect?). Not just any soap, either. We made tiny chicks and rabbits colored yellow and scented with green apple. Cupcake soaps colored orange and scented with strawberry, with little toy rabbits hidden inside. The favorite? A 3-D neon green flying saucer!

Don't expect to see these soaps on our website, though. They are limited edition, one-time-only special soaps created by a very special five-year old boy! Now that's what I call good, clean fun!

Friendship and Laughter: Two Special Gifts

Recently I came across this picture of a juried gift show we did back in December.
Being one of the biggest "local" shows in the area, it was a lot of work, and I hesitated doing it at such a busy time of the year. Without my asking, two wonderful friends cleared their schedules, woke up early, and spent the day with me at the show.
They brought snacks and water. They stocked, displayed, sold, and restocked. They kept me grounded and organized (not an easy thing to do!). More important than all of that, though, they kept me, and our customers, laughing. We had a blast, customers were happy, and the show went well.
As I look at the picture, I know this truly was a gift show. But the gifts weren't just the soaps, lotions, and candles that customers took home to wrap. There were two other special gifts that day: the gifts of friendship and laughter from two very special people. Love ya, ladies!

He Reached (For) The Summit!

If you have teen children, you understand when I say they sometimes can be very dismissive of their parents endeavors. Dad's a five-star gourmet chef? Just give me a burger and fries. Mom's a concert pianist? That stuff is lame.

I was blown away the other day when my son came to me and asked, "Do you have any more of that soap?" That "soap" he was referring to was our new Summit bar! I had put a bar in his bathroom thinking it would brighten the room and make it smell good. I left his old soap there, not wanting to upset the family apple cart. After all, mom makes "smelly soap," and that stuff's for girls.

I quietly got another bar of Summit and checked his bathroom. Sure enough, the old bar was worn down to a little, black-and-white sliver. Woohoo! It reminded me of that old cereal commercial: "He likes it! Hey, Mikey! He likes it!" Maybe mom and her soaps aren't so lame, after all.

Pine Mountain Summit bar soap. Kid tested and approved. But don't tell him I told you.

Spring has come to Pine Mountain!

Can you see them? Not very big in size, but big in spirit! These little bloomers popping out of the rocky soil show great determination. Dormant all cold, snowy winter, they fought their way through the rock, sneaked past the deer, and bloomed in all their colorful glory!
Spring is a time of growth and renewal, and that is just what we are doing at Pine Mountain! Our new spring lineup includes fun, new soaps to bring a smile to your bath or give as welcomed gifts. For the chocoholic in your life, check out our Chocolate Soaps, available in several styles and packaged ready for gift giving! Our Soapsicles look and smell like your favorite frozen treat and make great gifts for Easter and Mother's Day.
